What the heck is aquaponics?
Aquaponics is the marriage of aquaculture, raising fish under controlled conditions, and hydroponics, the growing of fruits and vegetables in nutrient enriched water, also under controlled conditions.
Inland Sea Aquaponics uses a custom designed "cell" in a closed loop system that takes the nutrient rich water from the fish growing tanks, runs the water through a biofilter, and then into the grow beds fertilizing the plants, and then back to the fish tanks, cleaned and ready to repeat the cycle. NO GMO SEEDS AND NO CHEMICAL FERTILIZERS = 100% ORGANIC AND ENVIRONMENTALLY FRIENDLY! The system is highly efficient in that there is very little loss of water due to evaporation and very little energy is used to support the system.
